What is the NJIT Day of Caring?

The NJIT Day of Giving is a one-day, online fundraising event that will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2020. On this day, we ask that all NJIT alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and friends visit URL to be determined to make an online donation to support NJIT. Spread the word about this event on social media using the hashtag #NJITDayofGiving.

How do I make a gift?

On Wednesday, May 27, 2020, simply visit URL to be determined, click the "Give Now" button and fill out the brief donation form.

What will my donation fund?

You choose where you donation is allocated! You can make your gift to the Annual Fund – which supports our areas of greatest need – or to one of the six colleges, a student organization, or sports team that has special meaning to you. Wherever you choose to direct your gift – you will have an impact on today's students, faculty, staff and future generations of Highlanders.

What if I don't see the area of campus I want to designate my gift to?

If the area of campus you want to designate your gift towards is not on the list, simply select "Other," then scroll down to the comments field and type in where you would like your donation to go.

I can't afford to make a large gift. Will my donation really make a difference?

Yes! All of the smaller gifts really add up! A gift of $10 will make a difference and have an impact on the students. In addition, every gift increases NJIT's alumni participation rate, which in turn raises our profile in the national rankings and increases the value of an NJIT degree.

Can I send a gift by mail or by phone?

Since NJIT’s Day of Caring is a virtual event. All donations must be made via the NJIT Day of Caring website (to be determined) to be counted in the day's totals.

Can I support more than one area of campus?

Absolutely! The online donation form allows you the opportunity to make multiple gifts and impact as many areas of campus as you choose.

I already made a gift this year, why should I give again?

We greatly appreciate your support and don't want you to feel obligated to make a second gift this year. However, feel free to take this opportunity to think of NJIT’s Day of Giving as offering a second donation which may encourage other donors to make their initial gift in support of the university. Choose an area of campus to support and - large or small - feel free to make that additional donation.

Is my gift to NJIT’s Day of Giving tax-deductible?

Yes! All gifts to NJIT’s Day of Caring are considered a donation to the university. Your gift will be acknowledged electronically and a printed receipt mailed for your tax records.

Besides making a gift, how else can I support the NJIT Day of Caring?

Another way to make a major impact on the NJIT Day of Giving is to help us spread the word via social media, e-mail, text, word of mouth! First, make sure to sign-up to be an ambassador so you can easily track the donations you are bringing in. Second, join our NJIT Day of Giving Facebook and/or Twitter Team where we provide easy, fun ways to help spread the word.

How do I issue a participation or matching gift challenge?

Participation and matching gift challenges inspire others to make donations on NJIT’s Day of Giving. They will add to the day's success! Were you planning to make a gift to NJIT this year of $2,500 or more? Why not share that information, and issue that as a participation or matching gift challenge to maximize this donation by encouraging others to give? Can my employer match the gift I make on the NJIT Day of Giving?

Many companies will match their employees' gifts to the University, increasing the impact or even doubling its value! Learn more and see if your employer participates. Some employers match donations for spouses as well as retirees!

I am getting an error making my donation and need help?

  1. Make sure the contact information you are entering matches the information associated with your credit card

  2. Try donating on a different device such as a phone, tablet or computer

  3. Try donating via a different web browser, ie Chrome.
